Day 39: Remove Hairspray Residue with Rubbing Alcohol

This morning I was wiping down my bathroom counter with one of those disposable disinfectant wipes.  I love those things!  But, they do not remove that nasty layer of hairspray residue that builds up on bathroom counters.  Most cleaning solutions don't.  It takes a lot of hot water and hard scrubbing to get that stuff off.  I knew there had to be an easier way, and I was sure it would be on Pinterest somewhere.  However, there was nothing to be found!  I did find advice on how to remove it from walls and from wood, though.  All helpful, but not what I was looking for.  So good old Google came to the rescue!

Rubbing alcohol did the trick, and it's much cheaper than some of the other solutions suggested.  And it's super easy, too! I saturated a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol and ran it over the counter.  It cleaned a huge area and instantly took the grime right off!  I ran my hand over the cleaned area after it dried and it was nice and smooth.  No need for a washcloth or rag- that would just waste your alcohol.  Two cotton balls covered my entire counter! If you don't like the "hospital" smell, you can run over it again with another cleaner or disinfectant wipe.  As an added benefit, my faucets are incredibly shiny!
