Day 149: Cheater Batteries

Making Life Easier 3

Believe it or not, this  actually works! I'm pretty sure we go through a Costco-sized flat of batteries every couple weeks.  Bryce has a need to play Wii every day, and Henry is now very good at it as well.  Add to that the times we play together as a family at night, and we are going through AA batteries like a kids goes through his Halloween candy the next morning!  Unfortunately, this morning we made the crucial error of running out of AA's before I bought a new package.  This is not acceptable.  To anyone else maybe, but to Bryce it is a bitter loss, worthy of great tears.  Especially on a Saturday when he has time to actually play.  I remembered seeing this pinned a while back and thought I would try it.  Sure enough, it works great!  I know a small battery like a AAA won't last long in the remote, but it WILL get me through Charlie's nap, after which we will making a run to the store!  NOTE: The picture is wrong, the description is correct.  Put the foil on the positive side of the battery posts.  In the picture, it's on the negative side.
