I'm trying to stick with useful ideas for Christmas over the next couple weeks, so I'm wracking my brain and Pinterest boards to offer fresh ideas :) Today is a two-for-one day, since I haven't technically done these things yet. The first is a great list of different ideas for gift exchanging. This is especially handy for those work Christmas parties, or a Sunday school class party, or a Mom's group get together. I loved the idea about a rotating gift box that is exchanged between out of town friends. I'd copy the information here, but there are four pages total, so just click on the photo below and it will take you to Real Simple's website.
The next idea I'm highlighting is something I'm definitely going to do this year. I may be a bit OCD, but I hate the mess that quickly piles up on Christmas morning as wrapping paper flies. I'm certain that we have accidentally thrown away more than one gift in all the messy chaos. I'm also the kill-joy that's passing around a trash bag or wandering the edges of the family collecting trash instead of enjoying the moment. THIS will solve that for me, and will make it easy for the kids to help in the clean up as well.
Wrap an empty box in pretty paper and then you have a central place for the trash! As an added bonus, you won't end up with ugly trash bags in your Christmas morning photos! This was another one of those "Why didn't I think of that?" moments for me! :)
