Day 227: Praising Your Husband

7waystopraise_zps7d7f2813

I came across a pin, 7 Ways to Praise Your Husband for 7 Days.  There were some great ideas and reminders in the article.  I really have enjoyed keeping my eye open for posts about love and marriage in preparation for these Sunday posts.  I didn't really follow her post's instructions exactly, but I tried to be more aware of my words and the way I spoke to my husband this week.  Men especially need to hear honest praise.  Really, we all like it.  Just today I was given a sweet note from an anonymous person who was appreciative of my years of service as our church's piano player.  Don't you just love that warm, fuzzy feeling you get when someone lets you know you are appreciated? :)  Especially when it's for something very specific.  We all need words of affirmation.  (Not the "Daily Affirmations with Stuart Smalley" kind, either- remember that guy?) For some people, it's their Love Language.  If you haven't read the book, The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman, you need to! It was very eye-opening to me when we were first married to realize that what says "I love you" to me is completely different to my husband.  So anyway, this week, concentrate on what you say to your husband.  Do you dump everything on him the moment he comes through the door?  Do you praise him when he shows character and integrity in a situation?  Speak on purpose and you'll see amazing results in his response to you, too!
