Ever since the invention of Clorox Wipes, cleaning the bathroom has been a far less disgusting chore. I always hated having to use two different rags (toilet/floor and sink/counter) and it was so gross to touch a rag that had just been wiping down the toilet seat. Yuck. Disposable wipes make that so much easier! Just fold it over until you don't have a clean area to touch anymore and then throw it away! But they are expensive, so I thought I would give the DIY wipes a try. They are all over Pinterest with different "recipes" but the concept is basically the same. Click here to see the one I chose to try.
I'm categorizing this as a Fail. To be totally fair, I think my paper towels were too small. It wasn't quite half a roll since the dollar store container I bought wasn't tall enough to contain one. I had good quality paper towels (Bounty) but they were the choose your own size ones, so the wipes end up about the size of a piece of toilet paper if you're not careful. Because I didn't have enough paper in the container, my cleaning solution ended up being too much. I poured out what was left in the bottom of the container the next morning but the wipes are still really wet. I didn't even bother too cut a hole in the top of the container to pull the wipes through. I'm sure they'd never make it in one piece. Oh, and another yucky side effect- any and all moisture was immediately sucked out of my hands, leaving them dry, white and burning. I will probably keep these just to use them up, but I'll never make them again!
