Hello there, Blog-o-sphere,
This is Jared, your friendly substitute blogger. I am filling in for my wife today as she's currently facing down one of the worst colds I've ever seen. I am happy to help when I can, especially if it doesn't involve anything more strenuous than sitting at a computer and waxing eloquent about something.
I must admit that I did luck out a bit since I'm not on the hook for sage marriage advice or a neat, crafty Do It Yourself project where you use old toilet paper rolls and fishing line to construct a mosaic of DaVinci's Mona Lisa to serve as a center piece and talking point for one of the many tea parties you no doubt hold since having followed my wife's daily blogging. I get to talk about something with which I am infinitely (here meaning "too") familiar with: FOOD.
Many years ago two men had a dream. These were separate dreams but were destined to be intertwined in a culinary masterpiece. Joe had a thing for sandwiches and his motto was: the sloppier, the better! He had a good friend from Philly who loved steak and cheese and also had a thing for sandwiches. They both went on to create the great American dishes known as: The Sloppy Joe and The Philly Cheese Steak sandwiches, respectively. These geniuses of the culinary craft have now been immortalized in folklore and lauded as true heroes (another name for a sandwich-see what I did there!) of their fields.
As I mentioned these two delectable dishes have been combined into a gastric fusion that is sure to delight all partakers. As an experienced "foodie" and being involved in the restaurant business I would think that my opinion of my wife's tasty treat should be carry significant weight. I am objective about her cooking (I think she is a great cook) and when something doesn't taste good I politely let her know (just ask her about the Mexican Lasagna which I described as tasting like dirt). So believe me when I highly recommend this brilliant blend of bites.

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1lb ground beef
1 medium onion (chopped)
1 medium green bell pepper (seeded and chopped)
¼ cup steak sauce
1 cup beef broth
salt and ground black pepper (to taste)
4 hamburger buns
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon flour
1 cup milk
1 cup provolone cheese (shredded)
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1lb ground beef
1 medium onion (chopped)
1 medium green bell pepper (seeded and chopped)
¼ cup steak sauce
1 cup beef broth
salt and ground black pepper (to taste)
4 hamburger buns
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon flour
1 cup milk
1 cup provolone cheese (shredded)
Cooking Instructions:

Step 1: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook while breaking the ground beef up into chunks with a spatula or spoon until browned. Add the green bell pepper and onion and cook for 3-4 minutes, until the onions start to become tender. Drain an excess liquid. Stir in steak sauce and beef broth, season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil and cook until the mixture is thickened and bubbly.
Step 2: While the meat is cooking, split the hamburger buns and butter each of the cut sides. Heat a large skillet to medium heat. Place split hamburger buns cut side down into the skillet and cook until lightly browned on the bottom. Remove from the pan and set aside.
Step 3: melt butter in a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Whisk in milk and cook until the mixture is thickened and bubbly. Remove from heat and stir in the cheese until it is melted and incorporated into the sauce.
Step 4: To assemble sloppy joes- pile the meat mixture onto the top of the bottom half of each bun, top with the provolone cheese sauce, and place the top half of the hamburger bun onto the sandwich.
