Day 250: Clean a Plastic Cutting Board?

Today, Jared called me from work with a Pinterest question.  He was wondering if there was a pin about cleaning a plastic cutting board.  I had something pinned about cleaning wooden boards, but not plastic, so I searched Pinterest and found this pin.

Lemon as Cutting Board Cleaner - To remove tough food stains from light wood and plastic cutting boards, slice a lemon in half, squeeze onto the soiled surface, rub, and let sit for 20 minutes before rinsing. The best part? You'll have a house that smells like a lemon grove rather than chemicals.

This idea came from Real Simple, which normally has great ideas and useful tips.  However, it was a complete failure, according to Jared.  He was hoping to lighten the stains as well as clean the board without using chemicals, since it is for food in a restaurant.  Alas, there was no success.  My other suggestion was to use white vinegar, but apparently they don't have any.  (Who doesn't have white vinegar lying around somewhere?) There were a couple other ideas that may have worked.  Maybe you'll have better luck :)
