Day 242: Best Way to Clean a Lampshade

I saw this pin yesterday-

10 Cleaning Tips.  I was familiar with most of them, but the one that caught my eye was the suggestion to use a dryer sheet to dust and clean a lamp shade.  I suppose that was because I was just trying to clean one the other day and it was making a mess.  I remember thinking, there has to be a better way to do this.  Pinterest should have something.  But I never got around to searching.  Thankfully, now I don't have to! Using a dryer sheet is really quite brilliant.  It traps and holds the dust (addressing the problem I was having the other day as I spread dust from the lamp to the table to the floor) and it also makes the shade smell nice! The best part is you don't have to use a new one.  So the next time you're folding a load of laundry and you find that shriveled up dryer sheet (I'm cheap and use mine a few times before tossing them out) just give the nearest lamp a quick swipe before throwing it away.  Easy peasy!
